Welcome Message from your LMSA Mentorship Chairs

We’re happy you have visited our website and are considering becoming a doctor. It is our hope we can provide you with tools and resources to help you on this exciting journey. The path of a pre-med is frightening at times, it can seem overwhelming, but the rewards are great. You are needed to serve your community, and we are here to support you! California and neighboring states are seeing an immense growth in the Latino population, and we need your unique talents, perspectives and understanding of our community to better serve Latinos and other underserved communities. We hope that along with your dedication to learning how to become a more effective health practitioner, you will take this time to learn about health disparities, to question why things are this way, and never doubt that united, we can change this inequity and indeed the future of healthcare.

Becoming a physician is hard. There will be struggles, sacrifices and stumbling blocks along the way. But you will also forge great friendships and a deeper understanding of what connects us all, and what truly heals.
